HD lace on Vietnamese hair — Silk lace toppers on European hair
The lace is the most delicate part of the unit and deserves its own dedicated routine. Because Janicy's Hair uses two different lace constructions depending on the hair type, the cleaning approach differs slightly for each. Understanding which lace you have and how to treat it correctly is what keeps the hairline looking natural and the lace lasting as long as the hair itself.

Ultra-thin, near-invisible against the scalp. Extremely delicate requires a very gentle touch.
EUROPEAN HAIR
Silk Lace Topper
Slightly thicker construction with a silk base layer that mimics the scalp. More forgiving, but still requires careful handling.
Before any water touches the lace, remove all traces of adhesive, glue, or tape. Apply a dedicated lace adhesive remover or a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) to a cotton pad and gently press it onto the adhesive — do not rub. Let it dissolve the bond, then lift the residue away. Work slowly and never pull at the lace.
Rubbing or picking at dried adhesive is the most common cause of lace tears. Patience here protects the unit.HD lace is extraordinarily fine, it is designed to disappear against the skin, which also means it tears easily. Fill a small bowl with cool water and add one or two drops of a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo or baby shampoo. Submerge the lace area and use a very soft toothbrush or a clean makeup brush to lightly sweep across the lace in the direction of the hair knots. Never scrub in circles. Rinse by gently pressing clean water through the lace rather than running it under a direct stream.
Never stretch or pull HD lace while it is wet. Lay it flat on a soft towel to dry and allow it to air dry completely before wearing.The silk base on a topper creates the illusion of a natural scalp parting. Clean it using the same diluted sulfate-free shampoo solution and a soft brush, sweeping lightly across the silk base in one direction. The silk layer is more forgiving than HD lace but can still separate from the lace backing if handled roughly or soaked for extended periods. Focus the cleaning on any areas where product, oil, or adhesive has built up near the part or hairline.
Avoid soaking the silk base for longer than necessary. A targeted clean is always better than submerging the entire topper.
After cleaning, gently press a clean microfiber cloth against the lace to absorb excess water, never rub. Place the unit on a wig stand to air dry completely in a well-ventilated space, away from direct sunlight or heat. Do not attempt to wear the wig or topper until the lace is fully dry. Applying adhesive or tape to damp lace weakens the bond and damages the lace over time.
WHAT TO AVOID ON ANY LACE
Never use acetone, bleach-based products, or alcohol concentrations below 70% on lace, these either dissolve the lace fibres or leave damaging residue. Avoid cotton balls, which snag on the lace knots. Keep heat styling tools away from the lace entirely, as direct heat causes the fibres to shrink and warp. And never attempt to clean the lace while it is still on your head.
The lace is what makes the unit look truly undetectable. Treat it accordingly and it will continue to do exactly that.
